TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ORDERING
 

Occasion cakes/cupcakes

Notice required

A minimum of 2 weeks notice is normally required for a celebration cake and cake/cupcake towers and 7 days notice for cupcakes.

Deposit
For all orders valued over £20 a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total price is required at the time of ordering. This amount will be deducted from the final balance. The balance is due on collection.

Payment

Cakes/cupcakes must be paid for in full before they are released from our premises.

Transportation
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure sufficient care of the cake/cupcakes during transportation as Charmed Bakehouse takes no responsibility for damage caused to the cake once it has left our premises.

Inedible items

Occasionally, for certain designs, it is necessary to include inedible items such as food supports, wired sugar flowers or ribbon. Charmed Bakehouse will alert the customer to the presence of these items, but it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all such items are removed from the cake before it is served.

Hire of stands

If hiring one of Charmed Bakehouse’s cupcake stands, a security deposit of £50 is payable that is refundable in full on the safe return of the stand. It is the customer's responsibility to arrange for someone to return the stand to us within three days. If the stand is not returned within the stated timeframe, or if the stand is lost or damaged in any way, the deposit will not be refunded.


Wedding cakes/cupcakes

Deposit
A non refundable deposit of 25% of the value of your wedding order is required within 10 days of your wedding consultation to secure your wedding date. The deposit will be deducted from the final value of your order. If the deposit is not received within 10 days the booking will be deemed cancelled and the date will be released back to the general public.

Balance of Payment
The balance of payment is due 3 weeks prior to the wedding date. If the final balance for your wedding cake is not received we will not proceed with the order.

Cancellation
Wedding cakes and wedding cupcake towers are high value items. Charmed Bakehouse also offers a bespoke service and is therefore limited in how many bookings are taken for any given week.

Although we appreciate that the circumstances may be beyond the customer's control, in the case of a wedding cancellation, the deposit for a wedding cake is non-refundable. If the wedding order is cancelled within 3 weeks of the wedding date it is unlikely that the cancelled space will be filled and therefore the following cancellation charges will apply. Cancellations MUST be in writing.
  • 3 weeks or less - 50% of Full Cake Cost
  • 3 weeks or more – Deposit not returned.

Delivery & set up
Delivery is free within a 10 mile radius from our premises in Lisburn. Each mile outside of the 10 mile radius will be charged at 50p a mile. A set up fee of £10 is charged for time rendered setting up your cake/cupcakes.

In the case of an unavoidable event, such as a car accident or poor road conditions during delivery, Charmed Bakehouse cannot be held liable for more than the price of the cake described in the order.

If your cake is being delivered to an outdoor event, Charmed Bakehouse will not be held responsible for the conditions of the cake following set-up. Due to the effects of outdoor weather conditions, e.g. extreme heat; sudden rain; unsteady table on uneven ground; wind blowing undesirable items such as leaves, sand, dirt, insects and other wildlife, the cake and cake elements may not hold up and cannot be insured past satisfactory delivery and set up.

While Charmed Bakehouse promises to deliver quality products and services, we cannot be held responsible for anything that could happen to the cake once the delivery is complete.

Charmed Bakehouse cannot be held responsible for the location of the cake at the venue. It is the wedding venue’s responsibility to ensure that the display location is level, stable and strong enough to hold the cake/cupcakes.

The wedding venue should be notified that a member of staff will be required to sign a delivery release form stating that the cake has been received and set up in perfect condition. A photograph of the cake will be taken prior to departure to verify that the cake has been set up and left in perfect condition. Once the cake/cupcakes has been left Charmed Bakehouse is unable to accept liability for any interference with or damage to the cake thereafter.

Change of Wedding Date
If, for any reason you wish to re-arrange the date of your wedding, Charmed Bakehouse will try its best to accommodate these changes without any additional charges provided sufficient notice is given and that we are able to provide a cake for the re-arranged wedding date. However, if we are fully booked on your new wedding date and cannot provide the wedding cake, it will not be possible to refund your 25% deposit.

Colour matching
Where fabric swatches have been supplied for colour matching, Charmed Bakehouse will make every effort to match colours as required. However, we cannot guarantee that the colours will match exactly.

Cancellation by Charmed Bakehouse
In the rare event of non-production or non-delivery of a cake due to circumstances truly beyond our control Charmed Bakehouse’s liability shall be limited to the amount paid for the cake.
